I changed the hooks of these copper butterfly earrings with natural green stones. I think these new hooks suit them better than the silver ones, though they were entirely handmade. If you don’t have sensitive ears, of course.

Now the butterfly itself is entirely hand shaped from pure copper wire. Then I added the green stone (which should be serpentine, but I’m not a 100% sure so I will label it just as a natural green stone – it is beautiful in any case). The little insect is then oxidized to warm brown patina and protected with Renaissance wax to slow the consequential oxidation.
And then I added these lovely French ear hooks (for real – I bought them from France). They have a brass core and galvanized antique copper colored finish. And suit the butterfly very well.
