Another one of my trippy eye artworks has been born. It features delciously wavy purple with pink irises and fits the whimsigoth aesthetic, as most of my eye drawings. I even made an animation with it.
But first,
Sketching process
Found an old notepad with scribbles from my youngest kid when she was very little. I love to sketch on already scribbled paper. This way I don’t have the constant feeling that I’m wasting a perfectly fine paper for drawing bull…. on it. Had lovely brush watercolour kids markers, too. So I felt at ease and doodled what came by itself. It was this:

I felt I was going somewhere. Then I drew this:

And lastly:

Then this artwork stayed marinating for quite a long time when I suddenly saw it while tydiing my stuff.
Digital drawing in Affinity and Procreate
I felt the urge to redraw these eyes which were watching me so intently digitally. Started drawing in Affinity Designer using vector brushes. Got to this:

I didn’t feel free enough. Exported the drawing from Affinity to Procreate. And started anew. It felt okay now:

Making the seamless pattern
Then it was time for making the pattern. I had stone difficulty aligning the tiles. Because it was not a planned regular pattern but a very loosely drawn piece of art. I did a lot of cutting and parting as well as redrawing of the edges where the eyes overlap. But it worked! Iโve got my seamsless eye pattern now. ๐

Redbubble and Threadless products with the art
I added the design to my print on demand online shops. I’ve always admired people who have the courage to wear art like this. I myself am unnoticeably bland in clothing. Anyway, here are some fun products:
Redbubble
They have great quality printing facilities all over the world, which I love.

Threadless
There is a lot of fun stuff there. Even shoes!

Well, that’s about everything I can come up with about this new eye artwork of mine. Thanks for staying with me up to now!

Very cool and trippy eye artwork, Boriana. Your creativity is so wonderful ~ thanks for sharing! ๐
Thank you so much Phil!
