Horned demon mask which I drew after a sketch co-created with my middle daughter. Later she created a real mask based on my drawing for her school project. This is a “Кукер” mask – one of Bulgaria’s traditions. People called “kukeri” (кукери) wear them and dance to frighten evil spirits and chase them away. They also make rituals of sowing, harvesting and similar. Later I created vector illustration after this evil creature sketch. Evil eyes, horns – cool stuff. Thought this design will look good Halloween products. It’s a different one – dark atmosphere but light colors. Horned owl illustration and products
This horned owl was drawn a long time ago for my poster class along with the skating giraffe. The task was to create an impossible animal. Owls are beautiful birds. They also look very serious and literature presents them as such. When you look at their faces, though, their big eyes make them a bit funny, too. And as I was in love with owls then (and still am), this idea came to my mind very quickly. I had called the creature a viking owl then because of the viking helmets with horns.
