Purple pencil sketches of abstract plants

Purple pencil sketches of abstract plants and flowers. I drew the first two with my favorite Derwent pencil. And for the last one, which is more detailed, used a watercolor pencil from Staedtler, another one of my favorites. I love to create form through shading.

Autumn leaves drawings in ink and watercolor 2017

Autumn leaves drawings from this year’s fall season. Drawn in ink and watercolor. You can also see them at my Instagram. There was a challenge at @leavestodraw by Anika Starmer for drawing particular leaves which she had photographed. These are my sketches. Turned some of them into art prints, will soon add them to the site.

Ink sketches – August 25 2017

Here are some of the ink sketches which I drew recently:

drops pattern in black, grey and red, one of my recent ink sketches
A pattern of drops. Had a lot of fun drawing these.
surreal double eye ink sketch
This eye was drawn on the least suitable paper with my favorite Kuretake Zig black brush pen almost out of ink. Already made art prints of this one. See them at Redbubble and Society6.
abstract butterfly ink sketch
Sketch of a butterfly with contour drawn without lifting my hand from the paper
abstract flower in red and black
I like how this red flower turned out. Will require some work to turn it into an art print, though
leaves with holes and spiderwebs
Leaves with holes and spiderwebs plus some other invisible stuff which I did not draw

Recent watercolor sketches Feb 24 2017

Watercolor sketches and art which I recently uploaded to Instagram. I continue to explore watercolor art and I love it more and more. Up to now I’ve created mostly digital artworks. Now I’m thinking of making art prints out of my traditional drawings, too.

Sketch in watercolor – December 7th 2016

Recently I started to sketch with watercolors. I had wanted to try this since ever but I was somehow intimidated by the medium. Watched some cool online classes at Skillshare, gathered courage and started. Had some watercolor pencils, tried them first. The snowflake and the red flowers below are drawn with them. I like how intense the colors become when adding a little water to a densely shaded area. Then found a watercolor set which had remained from the last school year of my kids and some Ikea brushes. Continued with them. Here are the recent sketches:

Drawing with aquarelle turned out to be great fun. And my biggest problem seems to be not working with the paint itself but drawing on watercolor paper. I am afraid of using high quality paper because I will ruin it. Plus, there is some charm in the wrinkled paper. Just recently I started to overcome this fear by getting the cheapest heavy paper I could find and just forcing myself to draw on it. Still using children’s watercolor paints and brushes, though. Well, I’m happier this way for now. 🙂

What I did today – September 12th 2016

The only thing I want to do now is to draw. I have to make the new cases for iPhone 7 at Zazzle, though. So I will use the time while the little one is sleeping to do that. It is of higher priority at this moment. Today I added this floral sketch to Instagram
