This umbrella pattern features fun colorful umbrellas floating in the sky. Instead of protecting from rain, raindrops are splashing out of them. I drew this image in Procreate for one of Illustration Friday’s topics. The topic was “umbrella”. Thought what would make such an object more interesting. You typically use it to protect yourself in rainy weather. So what if these umbrellas were raining themselves? Would be more fun. So I opened my favorite Procreate app and drew them. Used one of my recent favorite color schemes – blue, white and red. Later made it available as art prints and products at my stores at Society6, Redbubble, Zazzle. See some of them below. Spring leaves go with ladybugs, of course. I love spring and decided to celebrate its coming this year with a fun image. I had a similar autumn design. Created a new, spring color scheme in different shades of green and red, then freshened it, improved the leaves, changed almost everything except the basic shapes. After I finished the new illustration, I added art prints to Redbubble and Society6. Check out some of the products from my Society6 store: Continue reading Spring leaves and ladybugs illustration
I love chemistry, especially organic chemistry. Drew this methane molecule because methane is the first compound we study in this discipline (my primary education is a pharmacist). And, to be honest, because I love drawing these shapes. Atomic orbitals represent all possible places of the electrons in space. That is what the dots stand for. And I like adding dots everywhere, too. This design is also related to environmental issues, because methane is one of the gases which contribute to the Greenhouse Effect.
Created methane molecules pattern this week. It’s a geek illustration with a hint of environmentalism. Made it because human farts are 7 percent methane and this gas is one of the greenhouse gasses. Cows have a much bigger impact than humans, though – farts, mostly burp – it’s a lot of methane. So it’s just a fun chemistry design. Shows my favorite sp³ hybridization between carbon and hydrogen atomic orbitals. See this illustration and products with it at Redbubble and Society6. Here are some of the products at my Society6 store: Continue reading Methane molecules and clouds pattern
This horned owl was drawn a long time ago for my poster class along with the skating giraffe. The task was to create an impossible animal. Owls are beautiful birds. They also look very serious and literature presents them as such. When you look at their faces, though, their big eyes make them a bit funny, too. And as I was in love with owls then (and still am), this idea came to my mind very quickly. I had called the creature a viking owl then because of the viking helmets with horns. Later I created art prints and products with this funny cartoon bird. The poster was even featured at Zazzle as a product of the day. Continue reading Horned owl illustration and products
This evil grin doesn’t need a face. It has sharp teeth and evil eyes. What more do you need to draw an expression…
I drew this illustration a long time ago. Wanted to sew a pouch for my phone and I sketched it. Did make the pouch, it did not turn out as well as I wanted. I’m not a master at sewing. Then I made a vector illustration after the sketch. Turned out much better than the pouch.

This Andean condor was drawn for a compilation of songs in the style Huayno. It is a collaborative name for the traditional songs of the countries in South America – Chile, Peru, Bolivia, Argentina, Ecuador, played especially by the Quechua people there. I designed a music cover for songs like these some time ago. I wanted to create a design which resembles the style of Andean textiles. They’re beautiful, geometric, bright. I wanted it to be modern yet to have the spirit of native South American art. Birds, especially condors, sun were motives which I saw in most of the textiles there. And I listened to this kind of music then to get in the mood. Loved it, actually. So I decided to draw a geometric condor with wide spread wings flying in from of a big yellow sun. Drew this funny tomato a long time ago along with a broccoli and an eggplant with the same stressed look in their eyes. I love to draw odd creatures and these vegetables were a great fun to create. I changed it a bit later, added the pixelated background. Had made it with lighter green background, intensified the color. Because, as a regular a crazy person, I like bright colors the most. Made an eye-huring pattern with the funny veggie, too. See art prints with it at my Redbubble and Society6 stores.
This funny snake was drawn a long time ago when I was sketching ideas for my portfolio site. Finished just the artwork and made art print out of the swirling reptiles instead of making the site. All of the snakes have very sharp teeth and they are eyeless except for the center one. You can tell it is in love by its heart-shaped glasses, heh. I love to draw this kind of shapes. They frequently turn out to be reptilian or flowers with just teeth coming out of their mouths and this one is a great example. I’ll draw something like this with watercolors in the near future.

These cute bugs have big eyes and sharp teeth and they are smiling happily. Created this cute pattern in pink, orange and purple colors some time ago. I have added many products with this fun pattern at my stores – from phone cases and home decor to all over printed clothing.
